Boston Property Inspections Derailing Real Estate Sales in Today's Market
Last week I wrote how Boston home buyers and sellers are historically more decisive as we head towards the winter…not many people like to move in the New England winter!
There is one other trend I am sensing which is not quite as customary. That trend is a willingness to walk away from an accepted offer because of the property inspections. In a rising market, buyers would be satisfied with defects that in today’s market can derail the sale. It seems that the qualified buyers sense that they are in short supply and will walk from a property expecting that they can get a better deal elsewhere.
In today’s market boston property sellers need to be more concerned about property inspections than ever before! My advice to sellers is to disclose as much as possible before the offer so that buyers do not become disenchanted by the property inspection. Has anyone experienced this trend personally?
