Spring to Come Soon for Boston Real Estate

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

“MUSH, MUSH, MUSH!”

Feeling tired?  The persistent blows of a brutal New England winter have you discouraged? Is there no relief in sight from the weather and, by extension, the weakened real estate market and economy?

On a very cold winter’s day I went to see the dog sled races in Hamilton, MA and witnessed the perseverance of the sled dogs in a harsh environment racing long distances with no end in sight. Kind of like everything in Boston right now – especially those with Boston homes. The restaurants are slow, pedestrian traffic is sparse, parking is even more difficult than usual and most people are feeling battered.

Onlookers enjoy the Dog Sled Races in Hamilton, MA

But look closely at the dogs in the photo and you can see that they know something about their future. They know that ultimately their stamina will rule the day with the end of the tough slog.  The same goes for us Bostonians. Just hang in there a little longer. There are a few brightening signs in the economy which bode well for the real estate market.  And we all know, despite our frostbitten fingers, that the spring thaw will be here eventually! Hooray, hooray, hooray!

We can also start looking forward to a new Boston sales and rentals season – so contact Cabot and Company today!

Cabot and Company Celebrates Its 22nd Annual Holiday Party

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

A lot of restaurants have come and gone over the past 22 years but we always seem to find a nice venue with fine food and drink for our annual Holiday Bash! This year we went to Mistral on Columbus Avenue.

In addition to the excellent food and drink, we had our traditional “Cabot Yankee Swap” wherein Cabot provides the gifts to be exchanged. A genuine “clunker” of a gift, lottery tickets and fancy alcohol are always in the mix to help assure a competitive swap.  Regardless of the economic times for Boston real estate, this is a Cabot event we always enjoy and feel blessed to have!

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Cabot & Company Visits The Harvard Club in Downtown Boston

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Pictured are Paula, Dan and myself as well as Shelagh and Dan at the Harvard Club of Boston’s Business to Business Expo. The event was held at the Downtown Harvard Club on the penthouse level of One Federal Street, 38 floors above the city. It was a magnificent evening with plenty of food and drink as well as gorgeous views of the city and harbor.

It was also an opportunity to network with other businesses and professionals in a warm and collegial atmosphere. Paula, Dan , Shelagh and I had a fine time discussing some of our specialties, including Boston real estate, Boston investment property and Boston commercial real estate, in addition to learning about other companies that operate in and around our city. Cabot & Company was the only Boston real estate firm there so we were pretty busy!
